Philanthropy

Access’ mission is bigger than profit.

Back in 2009, Access committed to act as a socially responsible organisation and significantly contribute to various charities and worthy causes each year. We also continue to actively sponsor organisations such as Charity Finance Group, Homeless Link and Plunkett UK, promoting their work and insuring many of their members.

We give back through the Benefact Group’s various giving programmes. The Group itself is owned by a charitable trust, and all available profits go to charities and good causes. Over £1 million is donated annually through the Movement for Good awards.

Social enterprise is embedded deep in our company culture. Staff are encouraged to volunteer and fundraise for local charities and causes. Some of our team hold trustee positions, regular voluntary roles or get involved in charity days.

Climate impact

As well as the social and governance aspects of being a responsible company, we realise we must also commit to doing our part for the planet.

The Benefact Group who have been working on making sure business activities across the Group are not just ethical, but positively impact the environment. The Group’s climate plan guides how the Group invests, how we insure, how we give and the Group’s direct impact. The Group has already achieved Net Zero for its Direct Impact and will be working towards net zero historic impact too – setting a long-term net zero target for 2040.

As part of the Group’s giving back, £250,000 was given to climate and environmental charities in 2023. This includes funding a range of causes, including biodiversity, river health, regenerative agriculture, wetland restoration, transition, and environmental education. The outcomes of some of these projects include rewilding 600+ acres and supporting 150 young people to understand and establish climate plans for their schools.

We are regulated by the FCA, which means we are committed to upholding ethical standards, being compliant and ensuring our staff and company our properly trained to provide a high level of service to our customers.
